"Inspire" is a contemporary worship group, held at Christ Church every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month.
We hold two different types of events: social events and faith discussion/bible-study based nights.
The social events are aimed at everybody, Christians and non-Christians. They are an attempt to provide a non-threatening atmosphere in which people without a Church relationship can begin their journey with God - we believe that it is important to make faith seem normal, to attempt to counter-act the media promoted idea of Christianity as either dull or extremist in nature. We hope that through accessible events such as film nights, quiz nights etc, we can reach those who are wary of Church-based events. We are also seeking to hold events outside of Christ Church in order to further this attempt to reach people where they are, rather than waiting for them to come to us.
The smaller, group nights are based around an open discussion, a forum for people to develop their own ideas about their faith. Each night is completely different, organised by a different member of our group each time and based upon current subjects and ideas close to our hearts. We have found that by discussing our faith, we grow in faith. As a group of Christians with no training we have grown together and become stronger in our faith, and hopefully we can help others with this journey too. We also look at different ways to approach positive group prayer. The whole night is based around a chilled-out, meditative atmosphere.
Christians and non-Christians alike are welcome, so bring your friends!
